Gilles RAYMOND
CEO
In-fusio
PLENARY SESSIONS- 23, november 2005
Gilles Raymond manages a leading international mobile entertainment
company, publishing games and applications for cell phones and delivering
players’ community management services..
At the end of the 90’s, Raymond concluded that gaming is a
universal hobby, whatever the player’s age or culture, he
bet that mobile phones would become consoles of a new era, with
the potential to become addictive gaming devices.
With a solid background working for the video games arm of Sony,
he founded In-Fusio in 1998.
Since then, Gilles Raymond has pushed In-Fusio to the forefront
of mobile gaming through innovation and pragmatism.
In April 2000, frustrated by WAP’s failure to live-up to expectations,
In-Fusio launched the first connected embedded games solution for
mobile devices. Whilst this proved immediately popular it became
clear that the new generation of mobile phones would need a more
powerful solution.
In July 2001, In-Fusio launched the first dedicated virtual games
engine called ExEn®.
IN-FUSIO applications are now available in more than 50 countries
through 130 carriers and portals including: Orange group, Vodafone
group, China Mobile, Telefonica Moviles, Sprint and Verizon. Gilles
Raymond describes In-Fusio’ strategy as “a challenge
to federate all mobile gaming players around a mature mobile service,
which generates business."
Gilles Raymond manages a 230 strong team. IN-FUSIO has offices in
Los Angeles (North American headquarters), Chicago, London, Bordeaux
(global headquarters) and Shanghai.
To conclude Raymond quotes Hegel: “Nothing great was carried
out without passion”.
Born 28 September 1968 in Paris, married, one daughter.
