Romain POIROT-LELLIG started in the video game industry in
1994 as a freelance journalist for computer and electronic entertainment
magazines in France. In 1996, he joined the columns of the financial
daily “La Tribune” as a technology/media writer and
initiated the first regular coverage of the games industry on a
global basis, successfully developing and anticipating numerous
industry trends such as Microsoft’s arrival in the console
business. His contributions extended to international relations
& trade as well as commodities markets until 2000. Mr. POIROT-LELLIG
then started his current business to provide game and telecom industry
leaders in Asia, US and Europe with a wide “one-stop-shop”
range of services including intellectual property management &
trading, fundraising & financing consulting as well as business
development and production services.
Since 1999, Mr. POIROT-LELLIG also plays a key role in the emergence
of video games as an important societal, political and economical
issue in France. In early 2002, he co-founded APOM, the French game
developer trade group, of which he was the director until May 2005,
acting as a lead industry representative to the French government
as well as the European Commission.
