In the nineties, Philip Plaisance owned and managed a number of TV networks (including 18 home shopping networks in 18 countries) and TV production companies in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to selling the group in 1996, he had 1,500 employees, generating a turnover of approximately $100 million per year. Among his companies were: Sygma, the press agency, world leader for people content (photo + TV) before it was sold to Corbis (Bill Gates).
Plaisance Films, the French leader in entertainment and real TV shows, subsequently sold to Pathé Television Plaisance Télé-Achat, the first European home shopping network (sold to various companies depending on the country: France Telecom, Alcatel, SSR…)
Since the sale, he has invested in a number of companies and has been approached by several partners. Among them, he counsels Vivendi Universal on several matters, including packaging deals in the entertainment industry, and SFR (Vodafone Group) advising on future contents.
In 2003, Philip Plaisance launches WonderPhone.
