Rene-Philippe Mantrand (re)joined EMEA as General Manager for the communications sector business, based in Paris in March 2004.
Rene-Philippe joined Microsoft France in 1991, as marketing group manager in charge of the Windows platform. He then created the French subsidiary’s Internet Division in 1996 and for 4 years established Microsoft’s presence on the Internet through http://www/microsoft.com/france, developed the relationship with Telcos and ISPs in his capacity as NSP Director, and later added work with the Dotcoms, Web agencies and startups. In 2000 he conducted a benchmark of the sales and marketing organizations in the UK, Germany and France. In 2001 and until June 2002, he led the Enterprise and Partner Division, in charge of corporate accounts, Enterprise Partners, Medium Businesses and the regional offices in France after what he moved to Redmond, as GM of Business Strategy on projects related to the transformation of SMSG, the creation of SMS&P and our strategies in that space.

The EMEA&LATAM CS field Sales, Solutions & Marketing teams measure progress in terms of Customer and Partner satisfaction, revenue, growth, hosting and CSF market share across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The EMEA CS HQ team is focused on delivering the guidance and support to the CS communities in executing our CS strategy through our key vertical and horizontal business initiatives. I am super excited to lead the Communications Sector team across EMEA. I truly believe that by working closely with service providers and media/entertainment companies, there is a lot we can achieve to enable people do new things. Achievements, legacy and excitement are the 3 words that best describe what he values the most.
He is married with 4 children ages 13, 11, 9 and 4 and enjoys skiing, sailing and scuba diving.
