Francis LORENTZ is Chairman of IDATE (Institut de l’audiovisuel et des telecommunications en Europe ), a think-tank and a consultancy organisation dedicated to telecoms and Internet .
He is a Founding Partner and Chairman of LD&A (strategy,M&A and corporate finance for IT midcaps) He is also a Board member of several finance or high-tech companies.
From 2000 to 2005, Francis Lorentz headed the restructuring of the Galeries Lafayette technology services branch (Laser: IT services, CRM and e-commerce), and served as special consultant to the Groups joint Presidents.
From 1997 to 2000, he created and managed the French Government’s “Task-force for e-business Development” and, as such, contributed to defining the legal, regulatory and economic measures
required by the development of the Internet and its applications.
Between 1995 and 2000, he was also an Associate Professor at the Université de Paris Dauphine, and President of the Public Financing and Restructuring Establishment (EPFR) ,supervising the sales of Crédit Lyonnais “bad” assets.
Francis Lorentz was Chairman and CEO of RATP (Paris public transportation system) from 1992 to 1994.
From 1982 to 1992, he was CEO of the BULL group (IT networks and systems), and later the company’s Chairman and CEO.
Prior to this, Francis Lorentz worked as the Executive Vice-President of Lyonnaise des Eaux (water and energy distribution) from 1980 to 1982, after having assumed a variety of positions within the French Administration (Treasury) between 1970 and 1980 .
Francis Lorentz helds an MBA from HEC and is a former student of ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration).
