Seconded to the DTI in 1999 by Reuters Ltd. where he worked in senior business and sales management positions for 18 years in Denmark, Sweden and the UK. Within DTI, he was responsible for producing an "Action Plan for Growth" in response to the December 1998 Competitiveness White Paper commitment to do so in consultation with the industry. The Plan was published in Dec. 1999. Digital Content Forum was a key outcome of the action plan and now represents 25 membership groups : www.dcf.org.uk. In 2001 Mr Kroeger left Reuters to act as a consultant to the DTI, via his own company KroLic Co. Ltd. Early in his work with the digital content industry, he became aware of the UK's unique reputation in the games development sector. He and colleagues developed a dialog with several key leaders in the games industry which evolved into the formation of TIGA. www.tiga.org.
He now co-heads the team of Business Relations Managers for the computer games sector within DTI, working closely with Tiga www.tiga.org and ELSPA www.elspa.com, the two main trade associations representing the industry in the UK as well as many of the international games companies which have set up European Headquarters in the UK. Mr Kroeger, a naturalised UK citizen, was born in the USA and studied Fine Arts at Boston University where he received a BFA for sculpture. He has lived in 6 countries since 1976, but looks forward to moving to his home in the Lyon suburb of St Didier, Mont d' Or when he retires where one of his main pursuits will be to learn to speak French.
