Before becoming the founding CEO of TIGA (The Independent Games Developers Trade Association) in 2001, he was a Director of Brighton-based digital media company Victoria Real, until the company was acquired by Endemol Entertainment in 2000.
Previously he was Head of Corporate Relations for BBC Regional Broadcasting, served several times on the advisory council of the Edinburgh International TV, was board member and Chair of Pact's (Producers Alliance for Cinema and TV) Digital Policy Group.
He was Deputy Director of IPPA 1989-91 (Independent Programme Producers Association and Deputy CEO/Head of Regions and Training for Pact, its successor organisation. He was responsible for some notable lobbying successes, the setting up of an independent training fund, the structuring and implementation of Pacts regional policy and chaired for 3 years, FT2 –film and TV freelance training owned by Pact, ITV and C4.
He is currently a member of the British Screen Advisory Council, and founder of the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival.
