Broadband for All
"Lessons from European local players:
Network deployment & innovative usages"

Wildly popular among web users and a basic requirement for businesses, broadband has become an essential part of local public policies (serving education and training, health, e-administration, economic development…) and a measure of a region’s ability to compete.

Depending on the type of area being considered (metropolitan areas, medium-size cities, low density regions and zones), on available methods, as well as the national situation in each of the Member States, local players are taking a variety of approaches to broadband.
The goal of this day of discussion and debate is to illustrate the range of existing broadband deployment experiences, and to examine policies relating to innovative applications and the use of e-services.
