Philippe Hervé is research manager
at Bell Laboratories Europe, the research
arm of Lucent Technologies, in The Netherlands.
He holds a M.Sc from the University Montpellier
II, France and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering
from the Eindhoven University of Technology
in The Netherland.
Dr. Hervé has been involved in research
in telecommunication technologies since
1993, ranging from optical components to
software architecture for voice services.
Since 1998 he has been involved on VoIP
systems and networks and on converged voice/data
services. He is currently leading the european
research program of Bell Labs for broadband
networks, mainly on the migration to optical
access solutions. He is engaged in a number
of pre-competitive research programs at
national level but also within the IST 6FPsuch
as MUSE, NOBEL and within the CELTIC initiative.
