L'IDATE s'est imposé au fil du temps comme un des tout premiers centres d'échanges et d'analyse en Europe spécialisé dans les industries et marchés des télécommunications, de l'internet, et, des médias audiovisuels.

Le DigiWorld Programme a été mis en place, depuis plusieurs années déjà, pour soutenir les initiatives de l'institut visant à donner forme à la dimension originale de forum européen de débats et d'échanges d'expériences qui est au coeur du "projet IDATE".

Bundling refers to the practice of marketing a package of at least two more or less distinct services, in set proportions. Our goal in choosing this topic for the latest issue of C&S was to take stock of recent developments on the bundling issue in economic literature, drawing on analysis of concrete situations that the ICT sector's leading players are now encountering.

This new method of analysis may encourage some competition authorities and regulators to reconsider the functioning of ICT markets and incite decision-makers to think about the industry strategies to be implemented.

This special issue focuses on the technological effervescence that is characteristic of the telecommunications sector in the all IP era. Such an approach has two implications. Firstly, the debate over regulation, which is the order of the day in the world's most advanced countries and their emerging counterparts, cannot be reduced to a debate of doctrines. Secondly, growth in the telecommunications sector was dominated for a number of years by growth in emerging economies. And, in many cases, it is these very countries that now stand to gain the most from cutting-edge technologies.
